Sweater - RUDY GUEDJ & KUNSTHAL GENT

These sweaters show the addition "Sunny 16, Looney 11" by artist Rudy Guedj to the Endless Exhibition at Kunsthal Gent in 2022. Stickers were placed on the windows of the building, forming a giant fictional camera obscura. These light projections or apparitions take the surface of the building as a screen, with the windows acting as "cameras". Rudy Guedj has researched various anthropomorphic representations of the sun and moon in medieval, spiritual, alchemical as well as secular manuscripts. By placing the Moon and Sun in dialogue on the windows of Kunsthal Gent, Rudy also connects to his earlier work "Everything In This World Has Two Handles," added to the Endless Exhibition in May 2019: two snake-shaped door handles installed on the glass entrance doors of Kunsthal Gent

The sweaters are printed by sustainable textilefactory Groenewas (Nijmegen, NL).

The sweaters are made of 100% organic cotton and are GOTS certified. (Global Organic Textile Standard. Ecology & Social Responsibility)
