Who doesn't like to get an occasional postcard from a distant destination? In times where exotic journeys seem far away, Kunsthal Gent brings that feeling back to your mailbox with the postcard series 'Greetings from'.
The artwork 'Crisis Of Masculinity', by Thomas Min and Egon Van Herrewege, has been on show at Kunsthal Gent since January 2019. The construction made of concrete and metal seems at first sight to be firmly fixed, but looks can be deceiving.
With a precision cut-off machine, the artists periodically make cut-outs from the work, varying from 50 centimetres to 4 metres. These are now in collections in Deurle, Antwerp and the Norwegian Bo i Telemark. A cut-out of about 360 kg was even shown in an exhibition at Kunstverein Hamburger Bahnhof in Hamburg, Germany.
In 'Greetings from', a series of postcards, you can now follow the wanderings of 'Crisis Of Masculinity'.
